Oct. 23 Shopping Trips - Target and City Market Deals

Ran to Target to do the Glade g/c deal a few times and get some cheap peanut butter. Also found the Febreeze for $.14 and a free Gillette razor using the $4 coupon. Spent $7.59 and have about $6 on these g/c.




Went to City Market. I had some great coupons for the Post buy 4 save $4 deal. Also got Muir Glen organic tomato paste for $.10 each. Picked up some free yogurt and found some Sargento cheese clearanced, with a coupon it was about $.20. Otherwise just bought what I needed: milk, flour, bread, eggs, some produce. Used my $10 cat from the joint juice deal last week and paid $14.54 OOP.

Another Week Under Budget

Had a good Target run this week. The ice cream deal made my day. I was seriously craving some mint chip ice cream... I paid $17.48 +tax & got back $10 in gift cards for the ice cream & Kellogg's items. Might even be able to get another $10 Kellogg's rebate with them. No mega sales at the grocery stores this week - but I still only spent $70 total at all stores and that's $30 under budget. :) I didn't take the time to get pics of my Safeway & City Market deals - nothing too great, picked up 22 packets of Reach dental floss for free at CM. Won't have to buy that for awhile. :)

$20 Under Budget!!

I'm so happy to be under budget this week. Especially considering that I had to buy my special shampoo & conditioner because I'm allergic to almost everything - they were $14 - yikes! There were some great items at Target that were free or cheap including mascara, Johnson's body wash, Glade candles & refills, Tide & Chef Michael dog food. I saved $132.90 & paid $2.32 + tax (sorry I didn't get a pic)

Safeway had a great cereal promo. I also got alot of free or cheap items including Barilla pasta, Squirt, Wishbone Dressing, Arm & Hammer toothpaste. I was down to my last 3 boxes of cereal so this worked great to replenish my stockpile. Paid $23.97 and saved over $139 that's 87% - however I will send in my receipt & get a $10 Kellogg's rebate so that's a bonus!







City Market is still having their mega sale but I used my best coupons last week. Still I was thrilled to find No Name Steaks clearanced for $3.99 with $1 peelies on them. Got 6 free Wholly Salsas & Free Yakisoba noodles, Mentos gum & Reeses (very evil). And when I checked out the cashieer was so excited about how much I saved he insisted on high-fiving me. I didn't have the heart to tell him I saved more at Safeway :) Paid $31.28 and saved almost $89 which was 75%

THANK YOU, DOUBLE COUPONS!!!!

Oh, I want to shout it from the rooftops! I LOVE this City Market/Kroger promo. The coupons for Propel & Sobe ended up making me $15 to use toward the rest of my items. I paid about $25 for all this and saved a total of $181. I splurged on the Hummus - paid $4 for it, but you got to have Hummus with Stacy's Pita Chips, yummy!

Rite Aid Clearance

There were gold nugget Snickers clearanced for $.25 at Rite Aid. Using the $1/2 coupon from a couple weeks ago made for a nice moneymaker to help bring down my total on the Freebate items.

Target Deals!!

Right now you can get an overage on some Hasbro games at Target. Cadoo was clearanced for $3.75 use this $5 coupon for a nice overage. The best part is that I used about 10 of these coupons today and not a single one beeped. I paid $24 for these items & that's including an ink cartridge for $29 (I've got to find some cheaper ink).

City Market Doubles!!

Looks like I can't complain any longer. Both my local stores (Safeway & City Market) now double coupons! I am so excited! I can't wait to get all the awesome deals that everyone else brags about.

City Market Mega Event Freebies!!

There are some GREAT deals to be had at City Market(King Soopers) with their 10 item Mega Event. Mix & Match any 10 items to get $5 off your total. At the front of the store with the weekly ads they have lists of the items that are included in the sale. So far, these are the items I have gotten for free.

Softsoap is $1 WYB10 (when you buy 10) - use $1 coupon from here use zip code 45435

Speed stick is $1 WYB10 - use $1.50 coupon from here use zip code 33907 (for a $.50 overage!)

Yoplait Yoplus is $1.99 WYB10 - use $1 coupon from inserts and the $1 ecoupon

Yoplaid Fiber one is $1.99 WYB10 - use $1 coupon from inserts and the $1 ecoupon

Rolaids are $1 WYB10 - use $1 coupon from 6/7 RP

Propel is $.49 WYB10 - I used some $.55 hang tag coupons I had to get these for free

Amp is $1 WYB10 - you will need to buy 10 Amps in one transaction to do this deal. Purchase 10 and your total will be $10.45. The Catalina machine prints out a coupon for a $10 g/c. I have done this 4X so far. If you are going to do this deal be sure you know that the Cat machine is working.

If your store doubles - mine doesn't- Temptations Cat Treats & Sunny D Smoothies would also be free.


Another good deal is the Kraft Mac & Cheese 5pk. It's on sale for $2.75. On the side of the box was a peelie for FREE Kraft Ranch dressing (which is part of the Mega Sale).

Huge Moneymaker at City Market!!

City Market is having an awesome mix & match event right now. Playtex Handsaver gloves are $.50 ea. WYB 10 items - using the $1 coupons from 5/3 SS (?) you get a $.50 overage. I bought 20 last night & used the overage to buy $10 worth of groceries. I paid $3.97 only because the cashier missed one of my $1 coupons. These gloves work great for me because I'm allergic to pretty much everything.

Loving the Safeway Deals!!

There are some GREAT deals to be found at Safeway!! One that I found was the Schick Quattro razors that are 50% off ($4.89 at my Safeway) - use the $4 off coupon to get them for $.89 ea!! I picked up 6 -great stock-up price. Also the Dentastix were $3.99 & using a $2.50 printable and the $2.50 shortcuts e-coupon made them a $1.01 moneymaker!! I paid $20.41 for these items.



When I found out my Safeway was doubling coupons I was so excited I nearly peed my pants! Today I grabbed 25 Propel waters - on sale for $1 & each one had a hang tag for $.55 off!! I paid $.02 in tax for each one. I also got some relish - which was what I went to get. The total was $2.82!! These double coupons give me a whole new reason to shop at Safeway.

Kool-Aid is 10/$1 at Safeway. Buy 10 & use the recent coupon for $2 off any sugar WYB 10 Kool-aid. I picked up the small package which was $1.15. So I paid $.15 for 10 Kool-aid & sugar!

Hefty is $1.25 ea WYB 4 - use the recent $1 off coupons to get them for $.25 ea!

6/28 FREE at Rite Aid!

If you have any of those BOGO blinkies (I picked up some at my local Safeway) you can use them on the BOGO sale at Rite Aid today. These expire today & the max value is $.85 - so you will pay $.03 for each. I picked up 30 today for $.94! The M&M's will work great to make monster cookies. The Snickers & Twix I like to freeze and then mix with vanilla ice cream - yumm!

Good Deals & Freebies at Rite Aid

Right now you can get a couple of GREAT deals on table umbrellas at Rite Aid. The Hula umbrella is on sale for $29.99 - use the $5 off $25 (use this one first) coupon combined with the $25 off coupon from here to get it FREE! Also a good deal is the Market umbrella which is about $7.50 after all coupons. These coupons are only good until 6/23 so don't wait to do this deal.

Also this week there are some items that are Free After Rebate at Rite Aid. The best one is for Suave - use the $.75 coupon to turn it into a moneymaker. Also Oust is on sale for $2.50 - use the $2 coupons to get some for cheap!

Great Dairy Coupons for those in ID & UT

There are great dairy coupons on coupons.com however the fine print says only on products sold in ID and UT. You have to first type in zip code 83642 and there are coupons for:

$.75 off ANY milk
$.75 off ANY yogurt
$1 off ANY 2lbs cheese

Rite Aid Deal - 6/14 ONLY!!!

Rite Aid has their fans 25% off - Use the $5 off $25 coupon (give this to the cashier first) along with the coupon here to get the fan for $4.99 +tax. Just a note, it may be a good idea to buy additional items - maybe the Colgate Total- because the cashier may have an issue using 2 coupons for 1 item.

Air Wick I-Motion at Target

The deals are few & far between this week. Air Wick I-Motion is tagged at $9.99 at Target but rings up $4.99 - use the $4 off coupon for a good deal on this. I guess they are also on sale at Walmart for $5, but I rarely go to Walmart so I can't confirm that.

Safeway whole chickens are at a stock-up price for $.69/lb. and their Mix & Match sale is still going on however there don't seem to be as many good deals this week.

I've heard that at King Soopers Reach toothbrushes are on sale for $1 and there are $1 coupons out there - another deal I haven't confirmed yet but will update once I do.

Kmart Doubles - YMMV

Ok, so like most of us die-hard semi-psychotic couponers I had heard the buzz that Kmart would be doubling coupons the week of June 7th. There were some posting that "yes" most stores would double, however the ads were not showing doubles. I decided to directly email Kmart coorporate to find out for myself. This is the email I sent:

So since the email said all Colorado stores were doubling I planned ahead with my coupons and printed both emails to take to my Kmart with me today. When I went to check out the manager was unaware of the coupon event but after showing him the email he was nice and did his best to make the transaction right because the register wasn't automatically doubling. I made 2 trips, here is the 2nd trip: Paid $2.98 OOP

My Kmart's prices are higher than most but I'm pleased with the items I purchased. After buying 7 bags of Cat food, 6 bags of Cat Treats, rubber gloves and Oust the cashieer asked "Just how many cat's do you have?" HA! Actually I don't have any cats at all.

I'm working on my May totals to see how much I spent/saved. I just finished adding up my Safeway receipts. I spent $156.05 and saved a whopping $1066.07 -all just at Safeway & mainly because of the Living Well promo.

My total spent last month was $401.75 & saved $1841.20.

I LOVE the "Supervisor" at my Target

To the "supervisor" at my Target: I really love it that you take the time to make me feel like a valued customer. You clearly go out of your way to make this "guest" feel appreciated for spending money at your place of employment. Just the fact that I can count on you to come over to whichever lane I am in to scrutinize my transaction and then talk about me to 5 other employees really makes me feel glad that I choose to shop at my local Target. I honestly cannot comprehend why you make up bogus rules about Target's coupon policy - I have Target's coupon policy so don't push me lady.

All sarcasm aside, I have been pleasant with this employee and all I have gotten in return is a rude attitude and her vaguely mentioning the "Asset Protection" guy makes me feel like a criminal - it's just wrong. The first run-in I had with this guest services employee I posted a little about it here.

The other day my total was $120 before coupons - it included $38 worth of birthday gifts for my twins. I had a great cashier, she spoke little English but was getting through the transaction just fine. This is when the "supervisor" decides to come over and ask my cashier "what's the problem here?" My cashier says there's no problem and that's when power trip lady decided to say that I can only use one of a certain coupon in the transaction. I didn't say anything because I want to be nice (not make any waves) & THANK GOD she leaves. I am so glad I kept my mouth shut otherwise I probably would have left with nothing. Anyway my cashier is the only one checking out people and, of course, a line starts to form. Meanwhile psycho "supervisor" is in Starbucks with 5 other employees. I look at her and she is OBVIOUSLY talking about me. It was incredibly rude and humiliating. The cashier says "she's my supervisor so I have to do what she says." I tell her that if she's the supervisor she should be doing her job and either getting more cashiers or just checkout out people herself rather than badmouthing me. Now I am dreading going back to Target.

This is what I got. Not pictured are the $38 in gifts. I paid just over $31 for everything, gifts included. The Soothe drops were great moneymakers because they were clearanced for $.48.

Safeway Moneymaker !!!

I hope everyone is getting their Kraft dressing at Safeway this week. It's on sale for $1.35 & using the $1.50 insert coupon they are a moneymaker.

Coke with an in-ad coupon was 4 for $9 - I also used 4 $1 printable coupons from a couple weeks ago to get them for $5.

Ballpark hot dogs were clearanced & I had a coupon. There were also blinkie coupons by the smoked sausage for Free Sara Lee bread wyb 2 Ball park or Hillshire Farm so I got 2 buns for free. I also grabbed a couple extra blinkies to use them at City Market with their BOGO Hillshire Farm sale.

That was about it. Bought what I needed: fruit, veggies & stocked up on some meat. Total OOP $31.38, saved 77%.

On Sunday I was headed to Rite Aid & my 4 year old asked, "Mommy, are you walking to Rite Aid?" "Yes" I said. He very sincerely looks at me and says "Don't get run over by a car, because I love you very much." I thought it was very sweet...creepy, but sweet.

Another Rite Aid Freebie!

The large Hershey's chocolate bars are BOGO at $1.99 ea. Use 2 of the $1 off dark chocolate coupon from 4/19(?) SS to get 2 for free. I picked up 18 of these tonight & also bought Natural Instincts hair color for $7.99 - $2 in-ad coupon and $4 manuf. coupon. plus some small filler items. My total was $1.31 OOP. I had a checker that I don't usually have and she argued with me about using a Rite Aid coupon plus a manuf. coupon for the same item. It was pretty clear though that I knew more about their coupon policy than she did. But I think I will be making a copy of it to keep in my coupon box just in case. Now I just have to get rid of 18 bars of chocolate.

Great Week at Rite Aid!

This is an awesome week to get free items at Rite Aid. I've made 3 trips so far and have done 9 transactions. The best deal, in my opinion, is the Bayer Contour meter. They are on sale for $19.99 - use the coupon from 2/1 RP and then pair that up with the Rite Aid $5 off $25 coupon to get some great deals.

Joint Juice is on sale at Safeway for $.88 right now. Use the $1 off coupon from 4/26 SS. I used 7 of these to get them for free plus the overage paid for some lemons I needed for supper. Saved 102%!

I know there's something wrong when I'm disappointed by only saving 85%. I really got spoiled by the Living Well promo, so sad to see it go. I paid $19.04 for this and am mad at myself because I forgot to use a $1 coupon.

Deal of the Day - Free Aquafresh at Target!

Aquafresh Advanced was on sale for $2 at my Target. It wasn't signed that price but I took it to a scanner to check. Use the $1 off printable coupon from smartsource combined with a $1 off Target coupon here to get it for free.

Target Deals

I paid a little over $3 OOP for these items. The Clear Care was the most expensive at just over $12 but there was a $3 coupon in last Sunday's paper so I was very happy about that. Use the Kraft coupons from coupon.com (coupon printer above) and at Kraft's website combined with Target coupons from here to get Nabisco 100 Calorie packs for $.04, Kraft mayo for $.24, Kraft natural cheese for $.99. Use the Banana Boat coupon from last week (no size restriction) to get trial size sunscreen for free. Also use the Kraft Capri Sun umm... I mean Crystal Light coupon to get the small 3pack up by the registers for free.

I would hang on to the Ritz coupons because I hear there may be a good one to combine it with coming in the paper on Sunday.

City Market (King Soopers) Moneymaker!!

I hope everyone has been printing the new Kraft coupons that came out the other day. If not there's a great list of sites that have the printable coupons at Nifty Thrifty Mamma's blog here. I picked up these items today & paid nothing OOP. I rolled a couple of g/c I had gotten from the Special K deal & doing the Fiber One deal earlier this week so I paid $0 and got another $5 g/c.

Kraft BBQ is on sale for $.99 & using the $.75 coupon is a good deal however if you have a City Market & your store doubles you can get it for free there this week.

Last 3 Living Well Receipts

My last 3 transactions at Safeway were probably the best. I saved 101%, 105% & 103%!! I'm exhausted from this promo but can't wait for another one!
